Named after Robert Graves' influential speculative fiction novel, the exhibition delves into the interplay of mythological figures and personal narratives across time. On the ground floor, large paintings revisit familiar mythological characters, with the Minotaur prominently featured in a lush, immersive environment that invites reflection on the artist's connection to Greek culture. In contrast, the intimate space of The Breeder Feeder explores deeper themes through the Mesopotamian epic "Gilgamesh," highlighting the transformative relationship between the hero and his wild companion, Enkidu. Lappas imagines the lost moments of their alchemical union, depicting a cycle of erotic scenes that echo the rhythms of life and death found in epic mythology. Ultimately, the exhibition presents Lappas' journey of self-discovery, inviting viewers to engage with his artisticexploration through vibrant form, color, and light.
